Who is Gayle?

Born and raised in the Tacoma-Gig Harbor area, Gayle has always had an intense interest in beautiful and delicious food. Self taught, Gayle’s experience in the field of the culinary arts has created a solid reputation of excellence.  She began her career with a vision and untiring determination.  With a fierce passion for quality and an uncompromising view of customer service, Gayle has built her business into one of which she is extremely proud.  Gayle and David, married nearly 30 years, are the parents of two grown daugthers and doting grandparents to three beautiful granddaughters and a handsome grandson.

Who is David?

David Orth.  Where would Gayle Orth Catering be without him?  A commercial real estate broker for more than twenty years, David was always the support behind the scenes for Gayle.  Several years ago, David, after much deliberation, decided that he would join the catering company full time and retire his broker’s license.  His financial background and business experience have been invaluable to the success of Gayle Orth Catering.  David and Gayle very much enjoy working together as a team, not only professionally, but personally as well.  They love nothing more than to end their hectic days, at home in the kitchen, preparing a meal and relaxing.

Margaret Garraughty, with more than 30 years experience, is Gayle Orth Catering’s beverage manager and lead chef.  Cheerful, skilled, responsible and reliable, Margaret’s contributions are without measure!
Whether lead bartender, or off-site server, Margaret can handle any situation graciously and efficiently.  Margaret is also a fabulous web designer; she is most gratefully credited for this exciting site.

Gayle Orth Catering is proud to welcome Sarah Foster to the roll of Head Baker.  Sarah, an honors graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle, with advanced expertise in chocolate work, tortes, artisan breads and patisserie, comes to us from the Seattle Issaquah area, having held positions at Dahlia Lounge, Sweet Additions Bakery and Cookies by Design.

A proficient “scratch” baker, Sarah possesses lovely and intricate decorating skills as well as creative fondant work.  Celebration cakes and Wedding Cakes bring out the best in Sarah.

Married with a darling daughter, Sarah, is always cheery and enthusiastic; a most welcome addition to our team.  Not only is she a skilled baker; she excels as a gracious off-site server, as well.

Professional, creative, organized and dedicated, Marla loves planning events, especially, weddings. With her exacting attention to detail, Marla can guarantee that one of the most important days of your life will also be the most enjoyable.

Aja Medina is an accomplished and creative makeup artist with experience in all aspects of media makeup: fashion, video, and print. Being in the industry for over 10 years her training and education has brought her to expand her work with all ages, ethnicities, gender, and skin tones. She has worked and trained as an artist for some of the most prestigious makeup lines in the industry. Also a licensed cosmetologist, she has gained experience in the industry throughout the years in all kinds of special occasion work. She is available to travel on location.
